The census of the imperiled swamp deer has gone up in Kaziranga National Park (Guwahati).This was analyzed after working on census of the eastern swamp deer in Kaziranga National Park on Tuesday for the first time since 2018 after three distressing floods. Earlier the census was done in the year 2018. Now it is mentioned publicly on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs per the last revelation, 907 deer were there in kaziranga. After the unwavering, the census checked if the eastern swamp had fallen down or risen up\u201d said Sivakumar.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLast year only the core area was being covered in Kaziranga National Park. This year the survey has been extended to the neighboring areas\u201d said Shivkumar. \u201cThis time, the census survey is extended in Eastern Assam, Biswanath and Nagaon wildlife divisions of Kaziranga National Park<\/a> Tiger Reserve. The purpose of the census will disclose how many areas have been used by the species.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last census covered only 480 sq km area while this time forest has been covered upto 1,000 sq km. “The deer population is determined specifically, ” the KNPTR director said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ravindra Sharma, research officer at the park, said major parts of the sub-species are basically in Kaziranga, and some of them are given out in Manas National Park.<\/span><\/p>\n
