1. Agnigarh
   Agnigarh has a legend attached to it. It is believed that Princess Usha the daughter of Asura King Bana, was involved in a romantic affair with Anirudhha, the grandson of Lord Krishna. Usha’s father captivated her in the hillock surrounded by fire, and hence the name Agnigarh. After a fierce battle with King Bana, Lord Krishna was successful in uniting the two lovers.
   It is because of this feel-good story, tourists flock to this place. This area has been transformed into a park by the Assam Tourism Development Corporation.
2. Deopahar Ruins
   Book a cab from Kaziranga National Park and visit Deopahar or Deoparbat, 5 km away from Numaligarh in Golaghat district. Deopahar, meaning two hills, is popular for its archeological significance. Reaching the top of Deopahar consists of an exhausting trek. But once you reach there, the broken statues of the ancient temple, the glimpse of Karbi Anglong Hills and Numaligarh tea estate will make you forget your weariness.
3. Kakochang Waterfalls
   Kakochang Waterfalls is an ideal picnic spot for friend groups and families. Approximately at a distance of 13 km from Kaziranga National Park is cradled inside lush greenery and tranquillity. 4. Bamuni Hills
   The sculptural ruins and stone carvings at Bamuni Hills are the epitome of artistic magnificence. The locals believe the ruins belong to a temple of Lord Vishnu. The Archeological Survey of India discovered that the architecture is as old as of the Gupta period, dated back to 9th – 12th Century AD. 5. Gohpur
   Gohpur is a small town located 8 km from Kaziranga, in the district of Sonitpur, Assam. The place is popular for its historical significance. Gohpur is the birthplace of Kanaklata Barua, a famous Indian freedom fighter. The place offers a true glimpse of Assamese culture and history.
